Websites that are effective

Web design is the planning and creation of websites. This in not a easy job if you want to obtain a quality website. Web design is the creation of a new solution to a problem in the web medium. It includes graphic design, because the output will be consumed through a visual medium. But it goes further than the purely visual. It stretches to incorporate every aspect of a web experience.

We believe in creating websites that are effective, not ones that just look pretty. There is no point to an overly designed website if a user can’t find some simple contact information anywhere. A professional design mixed with user-centered goals is our main focus as we design and develop your new website.

The real way to measure a website is not by its design awards (which are nice) but by it’s effectiveness in helping a business grow. For a web site to live up to its potential, it must attract the right audience, and in the right numbers. That means it must be optimised to be found for people searching for what the site offers, whether they find the site via organic (i.e. non-paid) search, through advertising, social media, or PR.

It must also be easy to use and compelling enough to engage and to keep peopleĆ¢€™s attention. It must be easy for most people to read, even if they have a visual impairment or are accessing the site over a slow Internet connection or on a handheld device.

Creating separate website versions and code for phones, tablets and anything new that appears is sometimes overwhelming and no completely unnecessary. Responsive Web design allows your website to respond to the resolution of the devices that it is being displayed on. This is done by coding the website in a way that is knows where to move certain elements, such as navigation, when the screen gets smaller or larger. You’ll end up with a site that look great on the iPhone, iPad, desktop computer and everything in between.

There is a difference usually between responsive design and a completely separate mobile website. Both can be beneficial at times. Here is the rule of thumb: If you want the same content on your mobile website as on your desktop (or full version) of your website, responsive design is the way to go. If you’re looking for a mobile version that is extremely limited or a stripped version of your full website, a separate mobile version will usually be a better option. The advantage to responsive design is that it allows the website to use the same code and same files for all displays, while a true mobile version is a separate code base.
